Soltrus Partners with E-Soft to Offer Customers Free Network Security Audits 'High-risk' vulnerability detected in over 33% of networks audited to date, according to Internet security and online service consulting firm Toronto, ON - June 3, 2002 - Soltrus Inc., a national provider of digital trust services, today announced a partnership with E-Soft Inc., a privately owned Internet security consulting firm, to integrate free online security audits into Soltrus digital certificate service offerings. Conducted remotely, these audits are automated and designed to both identify up to 930 potential security risks as well as determine the most appropriate corrective measures. The result is that businesses can immediately identify and correct potential network and server vulnerabilities. "Our partnership with E-Soft is another Soltrus milestone that benefits our customers and demonstrates our strong commitment to providing Canadians with the most cost effective suite of digital trust services available," said Peter Ricciardi, President and CEO, Soltrus. "With the purchase or renewal of a Secure Server or Global Server ID, customers will be offered a thorough diagnostic test that has been created to identify and help alleviate their network security concerns. Soltrus is offering our customers peace of mind, at no extra cost." While the E-Soft security auditing service is one of the most comprehensive vulnerability test suites available in Canada, it operates as a turnkey diagnostic solution that does not require any downloads or installations. Vulnerability tests, updated continuously, include examinations for Windows based attacks, denial of service attacks, root exploits, CGI abuses, mail server exposure, and firewall weaknesses, among others. As well, detailed reports outlining weaknesses and suggesting solutions are provided to Soltrus' customers at no charge. E-Soft officials are quick to point out that more than one in three audits conducted by the company reveals a minimum of one vulnerability classified as a high risk. "Today's hacker is becoming more inventive and calculating, and the need for diagnostic tools to safeguard against security attacks is on the rise," said Thomas Reinke, President, E-Soft, Inc. "Comprehensive yet cost-effective security auditing services both identify areas of weakness and keep intruders out, but also regularly test for new vulnerabilities as they are discovered. E-Soft has worked with over 50,000 customers and has tested for more than 20 million vulnerabilities, and our new partnership with Soltrus will allow their customers to better defend their networks against unwanted entry."
