Title: | Slackware: Security Advisory (SSA:2013-350-03) |
Summary: | The remote host is missing an update for the 'llvm' package(s) announced via the SSA:2013-350-03 advisory. |
Description: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the 'llvm' package(s) announced via the SSA:2013-350-03 advisory. Vulnerability Insight: New llvm packages are available for Slackware 14.0, 14.1, and -current to fix a security issue. Here are the details from the Slackware 14.1 ChangeLog: +--------------------------+ patches/packages/llvm-3.3-i486-3_slack14.1.txz: Rebuilt. The LLVM package included binaries with an rpath pointing to the build location in /tmp. This allows an attacker with write access to /tmp to add modified libraries (and execute arbitrary code) as any user running the LLVM binaries. This updated package rebuilds LLVM to exclude the build directories from the rpath information. Thanks to Christopher Oliver for the bug report. (* Security fix *) +--------------------------+ Affected Software/OS: 'llvm' package(s) on Slackware 14.0, Slackware 14.1, Slackware current. Solution: Please install the updated package(s). CVSS Score: 5.0 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
