Category:Ubuntu Local Security Checks
Title:Ubuntu: Security Advisory (USN-304-1)
Summary:The remote host is missing an update for the 'gnupg' package(s) announced via the USN-304-1 advisory.
Description:Summary:
The remote host is missing an update for the 'gnupg' package(s) announced via the USN-304-1 advisory.

Vulnerability Insight:
Evgeny Legerov discovered that GnuPG did not sufficiently check overly
large user ID packets. Specially crafted user IDs caused a buffer
overflow. By tricking an user or remote automated system into
processing a malicious GnuPG message, an attacker could exploit this to
crash GnuPG or possibly even execute arbitrary code.

Affected Software/OS:
'gnupg' package(s) on Ubuntu 5.04, Ubuntu 5.10, Ubuntu 6.06.

Solution:
Please install the updated package(s).

CVSS Score:
5.0
