Summary: | The remote host is missing an update for the 'vim' package(s) announced via the USN-61-1 advisory. |
Description: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the 'vim' package(s) announced via the USN-61-1 advisory. Vulnerability Insight: Javier Fernandez-Sanguino Pena noticed that the auxiliary scripts 'tcltags' and 'vimspell.sh' created temporary files in an insecure manner. This could allow a symbolic link attack to create or overwrite arbitrary files with the privileges of the user invoking the script (either by calling it directly or by execution through vim). Affected Software/OS: 'vim' package(s) on Ubuntu 4.10. Solution: Please install the updated package(s). CVSS Score: 4.6 CVSS Vector: AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
