Title: | Debian: Security Advisory (DLA-125-1) |
Summary: | The remote host is missing an update for the Debian 'mime-support' package(s) announced via the DLA-125-1 advisory. |
Description: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the Debian 'mime-support' package(s) announced via the DLA-125-1 advisory. Vulnerability Insight: Timothy D. Morgan discovered that run-mailcap, an utility to execute programs via entries in the mailcap file, is prone to shell command injection via shell meta-characters in filenames. In specific scenarios this flaw could allow an attacker to remotely execute arbitrary code. For the oldstable distribution (squeeze), this problem has been fixed in version 3.48-1+deb6u1. We recommend that you upgrade your mime-support packages. Affected Software/OS: 'mime-support' package(s) on Debian 6. Solution: Please install the updated package(s). CVSS Score: 7.5 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
