Description:	Summary: SolarWinds Orion Data Storage Manager is prone to SQL injection (SQLi) and cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities. Vulnerability Insight: Multiple flaws are due to an: - Input passed via the 'loginName' and 'password' parameters to 'LoginServlet' page is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. - Input passed to the 'loginName' parameter in 'LoginServlet' page is not properly verified before it is returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in the context of a vulnerable site. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database. Affected Software/OS: SolarWinds Storage Manager Server version 5.1.2 and prior. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
