Vulnerability Insight: The flaw exists while handling malformed stylesheet document with incorrect MIME type. Microsoft Internet Explorer permits cross-origin loading of CSS stylesheets even when the stylesheet download has an incorrect MIME type. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation allows attackers to obtain sensitive information via a crafted stylesheet document. Affected Software/OS: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8 and prior. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
