Title: | CentOS Update for nss CESA-2013:1861 centos5 |
Summary: | The remote host is missing an update for the 'nss'; package(s) announced via the referenced advisory. |
Description: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the 'nss' package(s) announced via the referenced advisory. Vulnerability Insight: Network Security Services (NSS) is a set of libraries designed to support the cross-platform development of security-enabled client and server applications. It was found that a subordinate Certificate Authority (CA) mis-issued an intermediate certificate, which could be used to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks. This update renders that particular intermediate certificate as untrusted. (BZ#1038894) Note: This fix only applies to applications using the NSS Builtin Object Token. It does not render the certificates untrusted for applications that use the NSS library, but do not use the NSS Builtin Object Token. All NSS users should upgrade to these updated packages, which correct this issue. After installing the update, applications using NSS must be restarted for the changes to take effect. Affected Software/OS: nss on CentOS 5 Solution: Please install the updated packages. CVSS Score: 7.5 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
