Description:	Summary: Samba is prone to a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The flaw exists due to an insufficient mechanism to avoid buffer overwriting. A malicious user can send packets that may overwrite the heap of the target nmbd NetBIOS name services daemon. Vulnerability Impact: Successfully exploiting this issue will allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on the affected system. Affected Software/OS: Samba Server versions 4.0.x before 4.0.21 and 4.1.x before 4.1.11. Solution: Upgrade to Samba 4.0.21 or 4.1.11 or later. CVSS Score: 7.9 CVSS Vector: AV:A/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
