Vulnerability Insight: The flaw exists as user-supplied input is not properly sanitized when handling a specially crafted WAV file. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow attackers to cause a denial of service conditions or potentially execute arbitrary code. Affected Software/OS: VLC media player version 2.1.3 on Linux. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
