Vulnerability Insight: Flaw is due to improper validation of user supplied input when handling the 'index[]' variable or when handling 'substituted' variables in switch_regex.c script. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow remote attacker to cause multiple buffer overflows, resulting in a denial of service. Affected Software/OS: FreeSWITCH version 1.2 Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
