Description: | Summary: XnView is prone to a buffer overflow vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to an error in the JPEG2000 plugin in Xjp2.dll, when processing a JPEG2000 (JP2) file with a crafted Quantization Default (QCD) marker segment. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application or cause a denial of service condition. Affected Software/OS: XnView version 1.98.5 and prior. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
