Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is caused by hash functions based on the 'MurmurHash' algorithm, which is vulnerable to predictable hash collisions. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service condition via crafted input to an application that maintains a hash table. Affected Software/OS: Oracle Java SE 7 to 7 Update 4 Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
