Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to an unspecified error in application, which fails to adequately perform boundary checks on user supplied data and can be exploited to cause a stack based buffer overflow. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the user running the application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition. Affected Software/OS: IBM Lotus Notes Version 8.0 and 8.5 to 8.5 FP1 on Windows. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
