Description: | Summary: Open&Compact FTP Server (Open-FTPD) is prone to an authentication bypass vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to access not being restricted to various FTP commands before a user is properly authenticated. This can be exploited to execute FTP commands without any authentication. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow attackers to bypass certain security restrictions and execute FTP commands without any authentication. Affected Software/OS: Open&Compact FTP Server (Open-FTPD) Version 1.2 and prior. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
