Test ID: | 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.0.71790 |
Category: | Ubuntu Local Security Checks |
Title: | Ubuntu USN-1502-1 (xserver-xorg-core) |
Summary: | NOSUMMARY |
Description: | Description: The remote host is missing an update to xserver-xorg-core announced via advisory USN-1502-1. Details: Ken Mixter discovered a format string vulnerability in the LogVHdrMessageVerb function when handling input device names. This could allow a local attacker to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code. The default compiler options for the affected release should reduce the vulnerability to a denial of service. Solution: The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu10.5 http://www.securityspace.com/smysecure/catid.html?in=USN-1502-1 CVSS Score: 10.0 CVSS Vector: AV:L/AC:L/Au:NR/C:C/I:C/A:C |
