Test ID: | 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.0.71078 |
Category: | Ubuntu Local Security Checks |
Title: | Ubuntu USN-1347-1 (libevdocument3) |
Summary: | NOSUMMARY |
Description: | Description: The remote host is missing an update to libevdocument3 announced via advisory USN-1347-1. Details: It was discovered that Evince did not properly parse AFM font files when processing DVI files. If a user were tricked into opening a specially crafted DVI file, an attacker could cause Evince to crash or potentially execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user invoking the program. In the default installation, attackers would be isolated by the Evince AppArmor profile. Solution: The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: Ubuntu 11.04: libevdocument3 2.32.0-0ubuntu12.4 Ubuntu 10.10: libevdocument3 2.32.0-0ubuntu1.2 Ubuntu 10.04 LTS: libevdocument2 2.30.3-0ubuntu1.3 http://www.securityspace.com/smysecure/catid.html?in=USN-1347-1 |
