Title: | Trustix Security Advisory TSLSA-2002-0084 (tcpdump) |
Summary: | NOSUMMARY |
Description: | Description: The remote host is missing updates announced in advisory TSLSA-2002-0084. Tcpdump tries to decode packages it sees on the network to provide some information to the user. In the decoding of BGP packages, it failed to do proper bounds checking. The impact is not known, but it could at least be used to crash tcpdump. This is fixed in the 3.7.1 release of tcpdump. In addition, we have upgraded libpcap and arpwatch to resolve dependencies. Solution: Update your system with the packages as indicated in the referenced security advisory. http://www.securityspace.com/smysecure/catid.html?in=TSLSA-2002-0084 Risk factor : High |
