Test ID: | 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.0.52988 |
Category: | Red Hat Local Security Checks |
Title: | RedHat Security Advisory RHSA-2005:416 |
Summary: | NOSUMMARY |
Description: | Description: The remote host is missing updates announced in advisory RHSA-2005:416. Kdbg is a K Desktop Environment (KDE) GUI for gdb, the GNU debugger. Kdbg 1.1.0 through 1.2.8 does not check permissions of the .kdbgrc file. If a program is located in a world-writable location, it is possible for a local user to inject malicious commands. These commands are then executed with the permission of any user that runs Kdbg. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project assigned the name CVE-2003-0644 to this issue. Users of Kdbg should upgrade to this updated package, which contains a backported patch to correct this issue. Solution: Please note that this update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network, launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command: up2date http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2005-416.html http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-announce&m=106296509815092&w=2 Risk factor : Medium CVSS Score: 4.6 |
