Category: | Denial of Service |
Title: | Python DoS Vulnerability (Dec 2024) - Mac OS X |
Summary: | Python is prone to a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability. |
Description: | Summary: Python is prone to a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The asyncio._SelectorSocketTransport.writelines() method will not 'pause' writing and signal to the Protocol to drain the buffer to the wire once the write buffer reaches the 'high-water mark'. Because of this, Protocols do not periodically drain the write buffer potentially leading to memory exhaustion. Affected Software/OS: Python versions 3.12.x prior to 3.12.9 and 3.13.x prior to 3.13.2. Solution: Update to version 3.12.9, 3.13.2 or later. CVSS Score: 7.8 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
