Title: | Nginx 1.5.13 - 1.27.0 Buffer Overread Vulnerability |
Summary: | Nginx is prone to a buffer overread in the; ngx_http_mp4_module. |
Description: | Summary: Nginx is prone to a buffer overread in the ngx_http_mp4_module. Vulnerability Insight: The product has a vulnerability in the ngx_http_mp4_module, which might allow an attacker to over-read worker memory resulting in its termination, using a specially crafted mp4 file. The issue only affects the product if it is built with the ngx_http_mp4_module and the mp4 directive is used in the configuration file. Additionally, the attack is possible only if an attacker can trigger the processing of a specially crafted mp4 file with the ngx_http_mp4_module. Vulnerability Impact: Traffic is disrupted while the worker process restarts. This vulnerability allows a local, authenticated attacker to cause a denial-of-service (DoS). Affected Software/OS: Nginx versions 1.5.13 through 1.27.0. Solution: Update to version 1.26.2, 1.27.1 or later. CVSS Score: 4.0 CVSS Vector: AV:L/AC:H/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
