Vulnerability Insight: The following vulnerabilities exist: - CVE-2020-24996: Denial of service (DoS) in the pdftohtml binary because of an invalid memory access in the function TextString::~ TextString() located in Catalog.cc. - CVE-2020-24999: Denial of service (DoS) in the pdftohtml binary because of an invalid memory access in the function fprintf located in Error.cc. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to crash the application. Affected Software/OS: Xpdf through version 4.02. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
