Description: | Summary: Awstats is prone to an arbitrary command-execution vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input. Vulnerability Impact: An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary shell commands in the context of the webserver process. This may help attackers compromise the underlying system. Other attacks are also possible. Affected Software/OS: Awstats < 7.0 is vulnerable. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
