Title:MODX <= 2.0.2 Multiple Vulnerabilities - Active Check
Summary:MODX is prone to a local file include (LFI) vulnerability and a; cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied; input.
Description:Summary:
MODX is prone to a local file include (LFI) vulnerability and a
cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied
input.

Vulnerability Impact:
An attacker can exploit the local file include vulnerability
using directory-traversal strings to view and execute local files within the context of the
webserver process. Information harvested may aid in further attacks.

The attacker may leverage the cross-site scripting issue to execute arbitrary script code in the
browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may let the attacker
steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Affected Software/OS:
MODX version 2.0.2 and probably prior.

Solution:
No known solution was made available for at least one year
since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General
solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the
product or replace the product by another one.

CVSS Score:
2.6
