Test ID: | 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.1.10.2021.0162 |
Category: | Mageia Linux Local Security Checks |
Title: | Mageia: Security Advisory (MGASA-2021-0162) |
Summary: | The remote host is missing an update for the 'glib2.0, mingw-glib2' package(s) announced via the MGASA-2021-0162 advisory. |
Description: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the 'glib2.0, mingw-glib2' package(s) announced via the MGASA-2021-0162 advisory. Vulnerability Insight: An issue was discovered in GNOME GLib before 2.66.8. When g_file_replace() is used with G_FILE_CREATE_REPLACE_DESTINATION to replace a path that is a dangling symlink, it incorrectly also creates the target of the symlink as an empty file, which could conceivably have security relevance if the symlink is attacker-controlled. (If the path is a symlink to a file that already exists, then the contents of that file correctly remain unchanged.) (CVE-2021-28153) Affected Software/OS: 'glib2.0, mingw-glib2' package(s) on Mageia 8. Solution: Please install the updated package(s). CVSS Score: 5.0 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
