Title: | Mageia: Security Advisory (MGASA-2017-0372) |
Summary: | The remote host is missing an update for the 'openvpn' package(s) announced via the MGASA-2017-0372 advisory. |
Description: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the 'openvpn' package(s) announced via the MGASA-2017-0372 advisory. Vulnerability Insight: The bounds check in read_key() was performed after using the value, instead of before. If 'key-method 1' is used, this allowed an attacker to send a malformed packet to trigger a stack buffer overflow. Note that 'key-method 1' has been replaced by 'key method 2' as the default in OpenVPN 2.0 (CVE-2017-12166). Affected Software/OS: 'openvpn' package(s) on Mageia 5, Mageia 6. Solution: Please install the updated package(s). CVSS Score: 6.8 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
