Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to error in 'MSO.dll' library which fails to handle the special crafted buffer in a file. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation could allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and multiple-instance application crash). Affected Software/OS: Microsoft Office Word 2003 SP3. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
