VLC media player is prone to a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability.

Vulnerability Insight:
The flaw is due to the buffer overflow in
the 'AStreamPeekStream' function in 'input/stream.c' script.

Vulnerability Impact:
Successful exploitation will allow remote
attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary
code via crafted wav file.

Affected Software/OS:
VideoLAN VLC media player before 2.2.0
on Windows.

Solution:
Upgrade to VideoLAN VLC media player version
2.2.0 or later.
