Title: | Conectiva Security Advisory CLA-2001:439 |
Summary: | NOSUMMARY |
Description: | Description: The remote host is missing updates announced in advisory CLA-2001:439. Postfix is a widely used MTA (Mail Transport Agent, sometimes called just an email or SMTP server). Wietse Venema reported[1] a vulnerability[2] in Postfix where a remote attacker could cause a DoS (denial of service) condition on the server. The SMTP session log could grow to an unreasonable size and possibly exhaust the server's memory if no other limits were in place. Solution: The apt tool can be used to perform RPM package upgrades by running 'apt-get update' followed by 'apt-get upgrade' http://www.securityspace.com/smysecure/catid.html?in=CLA-2001:439 http://distro.conectiva.com.br/atualizacoes/index.php?id=a&anuncio=002001 Risk factor : High |
