Category: | Conectiva Local Security Checks |
Title: | Conectiva Security Advisory CLA-2002:477 |
Summary: | NOSUMMARY |
Description: | Description: The remote host is missing updates announced in advisory CLA-2002:477. Mod_python is an Apache module that embeds the Python interpreter within the server. As stated[1] by Allan Saddi in the mailing list of mod_python, there was a vulnerability which would allow a publisher to access an indirectly imported module, thus allowing a remote attacker to call functions from that module (which is an unexpected and potentially dangerous behavior). Solution: The apt tool can be used to perform RPM package upgrades by running 'apt-get update' followed by 'apt-get upgrade' http://www.modpython.org/pipermail/mod_python/2002-April/001991.html http://www.securityspace.com/smysecure/catid.html?in=CLA-2002:477 http://distro.conectiva.com.br/atualizacoes/index.php?id=a&anuncio=002002 Risk factor : High |
