Vulnerability Insight:
Nagios Core initially executes /usr/sbin/nagios as root but supports
configuration options in which this file is owned by a non-root account (and similarly can have nagios.cfg owned
by a non-root account), which allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging access to this non-root
account.

Affected Software/OS:
Nagios 4.3.4 and prior.

Solution:
No known solution was made available for at least one year since the
disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to
upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
