Title: | MikroTik RouterOS 6.41.4 DoS Vulnerability |
Summary: | MikroTik RouterOS is prone to a denial of service (DoS); vulnerability. |
Description: | Summary: MikroTik RouterOS is prone to a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: A vulnerability could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust all available CPU and all available RAM by sending a crafted FTP request on port 21 that begins with many '\0' characters, preventing the affected router from accepting new FTP connections. The router will reboot after 10 minutes, logging a 'router was rebooted without proper shutdown' message. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to effectively block access to the target host for an arbitrary timespan. Affected Software/OS: MikroTik RouterOS through version 6.41.4. Solution: Update to version 6.42 or later. CVSS Score: 7.8 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
