Kategorie: | Mageia Linux Local Security Checks |
Titel: | Mageia: Security Advisory (MGASA-2014-0458) |
Zusammenfassung: | The remote host is missing an update for the 'gnutls' package(s) announced via the MGASA-2014-0458 advisory. |
Beschreibung: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the 'gnutls' package(s) announced via the MGASA-2014-0458 advisory. Vulnerability Insight: An out-of-bounds memory write flaw was found in the way GnuTLS parsed certain ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) certificates or certificate signing requests (CSR). A malicious user could create a specially crafted ECC certificate or a certificate signing request that, when processed by an application compiled against GnuTLS (for example, certtool), could cause that application to crash or execute arbitrary code with the permissions of the user running the application (CVE-2014-8564). Affected Software/OS: 'gnutls' package(s) on Mageia 3, Mageia 4. Solution: Please install the updated package(s). CVSS Score: 5.0 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
