Vulnerability Insight: A buffer overflow error occurs due to improper bounds checking when handling overly long PASV messages sent by the server. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will let the user execute arbitrary code and crash the application to cause denial of service. Affected Software/OS: FTPShell Client 4.1 RC2 and prior. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
