Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to an error in '.avi' file which fails to perform colorspace conversion properly and causes a denial of service (memory corruption). Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted message. Affected Software/OS: Microsoft Windows Media Player versions 11.x. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
