Vulnerability Insight: The following flaws and impact exists: - A stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data. Attackers may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM-level privileges. Successful exploits will completely compromise affected computers. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial of service condition. - A denial of service vulnerability due to an off-by-one error. Attackers may exploit this issue to crash the affected application, denying service to legitimate users. Affected Software/OS: Novell iManager prior to version 2.7.4. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
