Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to an NULL pointer dereference error in the DPA Controller and Listener service when processing certain authentication packets sent to port 3916/TCP and 4001/TCP, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash an affected server. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow attackers to cause denial of service condition. Affected Software/OS: EMC Data Protection Advisor version 5.8.1 Build 5991 and prior Solution: Vendor has released a patch to fix this issue, please see the references for more information.
