Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to an improper validation of user supplied input, which can be exploited by persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted 'irc:///', 'irc6:///', 'ircs:///', or 'ircs6:///' URI. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow attackers to execute arbitrary commands. Affected Software/OS: KVirc version 3.4.2 and prior on Windows Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
