The following tables illustrates the usage of web authoring tools
on the web. The tool is determined by examining the web page
meta tag 'generator'. Readers are cautioned that not all authoring
packages insert their name in this meta tag, and as such may not
be picked up in this survey.
The April survey is based on a sample size of 1,305,561 pages downloaded from 190,902 sites. We detected authoring tool usage on 69,795 sites (36.56% of all sites visited).
