Die folgende Tabelle zeigt den Gebrauch von Hilfsmitteln zum Verfassen von Intenet Seiten (kurz Authoring Tool genannt). Das verwendete Programm wird anhand des Meta-Tags 'generator' auf der jeweiligen Web Seite identifiziert. Der Leser sei darauf hingewiesen, dass nicht jedes Authoring Tool seinen Namen in diesem Meta-Tag hinterlässt und damit von einer solchen Untersuchung nicht erfasst werden kann.
Die Untersuchung von August basiert auf einer Stichprobe von 7,018,975 Seiten, die von 851,300 Sites heruntergeladen wurden. Wir konnten auf 193,235 (22.70% der Sites den Gebrauch eines Authoring Tools feststellen).
